Set school record in 200 medley relay
Senior (2015-16): Eglesfield had a terrific senior season to end his career for Wyoming. He was named all-conference in the 100 and 200 fly and leaves UW as the record holder in the 100 fly (47.30) and 200 fly (1:44.50). Eglesfield finished second in the 50 (24.97) and 200 fly (2:05.44) against SEC member LSU, before taking fourth at the Purdue Invite in the 200 fly (1:49.45) for UW. He helped the Pokes upset No. 14 Utah in December by claiming third in the 100 back (51.65), and took second in the 100 fly (49.84) and third in the 200 fly (1:50.90) against Arizona State. He also won the 100 fly against UNLV with a time of 49.56.
Sophomore (2013-14): Eglesfield was a key piece of the Cowboys success during his sophomore season. He was the Western Athletic Conference Champion in the 200 butterfly. Eglesfield won the 200 butterfly event with a school record and career-best time of 1:45.22. For his work in the event he was named First Team All-WAC. He also earned First Team All-WAC honors in the 100 butterfly with his career-best time of 47.81, as he finished third in the event. His mark in the 100 butterfly was second fastest time in the event in Wyoming history and the fastest since 2008. Shortly after the finish of the season Eglesfield competed in the New Zealand Open Championships, as he won the 100 butterfly event to become the National Champion in the event.
Freshman: (2012-13): Eglesfield made an instant impact for the Cowboys as a freshman. He was named Second Team All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation in the 200 butterfly, after placing fifth in the event with a personal-best time of 1:47.93, a mark that ranks sixth in Cowboy swimming history. He recorded a pair of first-places finishes in the 200 butterfly at the Air Force Academy Dual (1:51.38) and duals against Seattle, North Dakota and Air Force (1:54.55). He recorded a personal-best time of 51.39 in the 100 butterfly at the Houston Invite. He made an impressive showing in the 200 butterfly at the Houston Invite with a second-place finish with a time of 1:48.75, as he recorded the top time in the preliminaries.
High School: Eglesfield is another Cowboy from New Zealand, joining UW from Rangiora High School. He had an excellent high school career, as the 2011 New Zealand secondary schools 200-yard freestyle and 200 butterfly champion. He was also the New Zealand 200 butterfly champion in his age group for three-consecutive seasons from 2010 to 2012. He also earned a second-place finish in the 200 fly at the New Zealand Open Championships in 2012. He also earned academic honors all four years of high school.
Personal: Eglesfield was born on March 12, 1994 in Leeds, England. He is the son of David and Louise Eglesfield and has two siblings, Fergus and Imogen. He is majoring in business economics while at Wyoming. He was also recruited by Missouri State, Florida Tech and George Washington.
