Her best finish at the conference championships was in the 200 breaststroke placing third with an NCAA `B' cut time of 2:13.42. She placed fourth in the 100 breaststroke at the MW Championships with another NCAA `B' cut time of 1:02.09. For her two top-five finishes at the conference championships she earned her second consecutive All-MW in both the 100 and 200 breast. During the regular season Hewson recorded two top-two finishes in the 200 breast. She placed first against Northern Colorado and second against TCU. She helped the 400 medley relay team to a first place finish against New Mexico. She earned her first Academic All-MW award as well as her second Cowgirl letter award. Sophomore: (2009-10)- Hewson completed her first year at UW with two top-five finishes at the MW Championships. She placed fourth in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:16.48. She also placed fifth in the 100 breaststroke with 1:03.13. She earned All-MW awards for her finishes in the 100 and 200 breast. Utah: Freshman: (2008-09)- She swam her freshman season at the University of Utah. High School: Hewson was an All-American in the 100 breaststroke and 200 medley relay in 2004 and 2008. She was an All-Conference and All-State selection all four years and was a state champion in 2008. She was named the 4A conference and Colorado State Swimmer of the Year as a senior. In the classroom, she was on the honor roll all four years, a National Honor Society member for two years, and served on student council all four years. Personal: She was born Jan. 19, 1990 in Fort Collins, Colo. She is the daughter of Sam Hewson and Suzanne Jurgens. Her twin sister Kenzie as swims for the Cowgirls and she also has one younger sister, Kate. She is majoring in communications at UW.
