Sophomore (2013-14): Scalise made an impact for the Pokes in his second season with the program earning All-Western Athletic Conference honors in three events. He finished third in the 200 breaststroke at the WAC Championships earning First Team All-WAC with a time of 1:58.36, as it was the fifth fastest time on Wyoming history. Scalise also finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke with a career-best time of 54.03 earning Second Team All-WAC. He finished seventh in the 200 individual medley at the WAC Championship with a time of 1:50.24. In the preliminaries of the 200 individual medley he finished seventh with a career-best time of 1:51.52. His time in the preliminaries of the event was the six fastest time in Pokes' history.

Freshman: (2012-13): Scalise had a very productive freshman season for the Cowboys. Scalise opened his career with a strong outing at the Air Force Academy Duals with a pair of fourth-place finishes in the 100 (59.45) and 200 (2:13.57) breaststroke. At duals against Air Force, North Dakota and Seattle, he recorded a season-best second-place in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:56.60. He swam a personal-best at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships In the 200 individual medley (1:51.52), 100 breaststroke (55:41) and 200 breaststroke (2:01.20).

High School: Scalise joins the Cowboys from Reed High School in Sparks, Nev. He lettered four years in swimming at Reed in the breaststroke and individual medley. As a senior, Scalise was named team captain and won the 100 breaststroke state championship. It was his second 100 breast state championship after he won it in his freshman season. In club swimming, he was the Aqua 5 Zephyr league champion all four years. He was also a Northern Region Champion. During high school, he was also the Far Western record holder in the 100 breaststroke. In the summer of 2012, he was a Junior National qualifier in the 100 and 200 breast. He also excelled in the classroom during high school earning Nevada All-State Academic team in 2011-12. He also finished high school with a 4.0 grade point average.

Personal: Scalise was born in Reno, Nev., on March 23, 1994. He is the son of Louis Scalise and has four brothers and two sisters. He is majoring in petroleum engineering at UW.
