Senior: (2013-14): Young finished her career with the Cowgirls with her third All-Mountain West selection of her career. Young was a part of the 400 medley relay team that earned All-MW by finishing third with the third-fastest time in school history at 3:38.97. She scored points for the Cowgirls in the 100 breaststroke finishing ninth with a season-best time of 1:03.24. Young had a big day for the Cowgirls against Colorado State earning first place finishes in the 100 breaststroke at 1:05.35 and the 200 breaststroke at 2:24.22.

Junior: (2012-13): As a junior, Young earned All-Mountain West honors in the 100 breaststroke after finishing eighth at the Mountain West Championships with a time of 1:08.43. She was also a part of the 400 medley relay team for the Cowgirls. Competing in multiple events for Wyoming, Young had many top finishes throughout the year. Against CSU, she recorded her first top-finish of the year in the 200 breast with a time of 2:23.68. She was able to earn two top finishes against Air Force, with a time of 1:05.70 in the 100 breaststroke and in the 200 breaststroke, she finished with a time of 2:25.31. She recorded her personal-best in the 100 breaststroke at the Houston Invitational with a time of 1:02.94.

Sophomore: (2011-12): In her first season with the Cowgirls, Young made and immediate impact in the breaststroke and individual medley events. At the 2012 Mountain West Championships, she recorded two top-12 finishes in the breaststroke events. She earned her first All-MW honor finishing seventh in the 100 breast with a time of 1:03.33. In the 200 breast, she finished 12th with a time of 2:17.98. Her best meet of the season came against Northern Colorado and Colorado School of Mines recording a team-high four first-place finishes. Individually, she won three events taking first in the 100 breast (1:07.40) and 200 breast (2:26.82) while also touching the wall in first of the 200 individual medley (2:14.44). She also helped the 400 medley relay team to a victory against UNC and CSM with a time of 4:02.02. Against Colorado State in the last dual meet of the season, Young finished the 200 breast in second place with a time of 2:25.93. Also against CSU she finished the 100 breast in third with a time of 1:06.58. Young earned her first Academic All-MW honor for her work in the classroom.

South Dakota State: Young had an excellent first year of swimming at SDSU placing fifth in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes at the 2011 Summit League Championships and she also placed 14th in the 200 individual medley.

High School: Young was her high school team captain and the team's MVP at John Pittman High School and was the conference champion in the 200 IM, 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. She is a four-time NISCA Scholar-Athlete as well as a USA Swimming Academic All-America athlete in high school.

Personal: Young was born on April 7, 1992 in Sacramento, Calif. She is the daughter of Roger and Emy Young. She is the sister of former UW swimmer Lesley Young. She plans to major in kinesiology and health promotion while at UW.
