Wyoming Divers Finish Action At Air Force Falcon Invitational

The University of Wyoming diving team completed action at the Air Force Falcon Diving Invitational on Saturday, at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. Freshman Eric McMillin was the Cowboys highest finisher taking 10th on the 1-meter springboard with a mark of 267.15.

"I am encouraged by what I saw this weekend," Wyoming diving coach Yahya Radman said. "I think this team is on the right path to get where we need to be to compete for NCAA Championship berths."

Today's diving for the men was on the 1-meter and the platform, while the women dove on the 3-meter springboard. McMillin finished the highest for the Pokes on the 1-meter taking 10th, he was followed by junior Derek Campbell who finished 11th with a final mark of 259.70. Freshman Garrett Kirk finished in 22nd with a mark of 203.35.

"Eric had a great weekend of diving," Radman said. "I am very happy with how he is progressing as a freshman."

On the platform, Campbell finished the highest in 13th with a mark of 218.10. McMillin followed Campbell in 16th (207.15) and Kirk finished 21st with a final mark of 170.60.

On the women's side, junior Amanda Fay finished the 3-meter in 11th place with a final score of 263.00. Sophomore Holly Heussner took 32nd with a score of 211.40, followed by junior Carolyn Wallace in 33rd (210.95) and senior Sasha Andrie in 35th with a mark of 205.70.

"Amanda did a tremendous job this weekend," Radman said. "Holly was also impressive this weekend for just now coming back from injury."
