The Wyoming divers began the 2011 NCAA Zone `E' Championships on Thursday in Minneapolis struggling, as none were able to reach the afternoons finals.

On the men's 1-meter springboard Kyle Bogner and Mark Murdock did not place highly enough to make the finals. Bogner placed 21st with a score of 245.15 and Murdock placed 24th.

On the women's 3-meter springboard Allie Smith was also unable to secure a spot in the finals, placing 33rd with a mark of 229.85.

"We did not dive very well at all today," Wyoming diving coach Pat Bukowski said. "I know that Kyle, Mark and Allie will all come out and perform better tomorrow."

The Zone `E' Diving Championships will continue Friday with the men's 3-meter and the women's 1-meter.
