Wyoming Diving Season Comes To Close At the NCAA Zone "E" Championships

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -
The University of Wyoming diving team closed its season on Saturday, with the platform dive at the NCAA Zone "E" Diving Championships at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.
"I am proud of how the kids competed all weekend," Wyoming diving coach Yahya Radman said. "Now we really know what we need to work on and improve on going into next season. I know the kids will work hard in the off season and we will keep working toward building a championship caliber team."
Saturday's competition began with the women first on the platform. Junior Amanda Fay was the highest finisher taking 25th of the 37-diver field with a mark of 190.50. In her final competition as a Cowgirl, senior Sasha Andrie finished the preliminaries in 31st with a score of 172.65.
The men followed in the afternoon session on the platform, with freshman Eric McMillin finishing the preliminaries in 20th place of the of the 23-man field with a final score of 212.85. Junior Derek Campbell finished the round in 22nd place with a final tally of 205.65.
"I was very proud of how Eric dove all weekend as a freshman," Radman said. "I also have to give Derek a lot of credit he put together a brand new list of dives today, including two that he had never used in competition before this."
