The University of Wyoming swimming and diving team closed out its exhibition schedule on Friday with the annual Brown vs. Gold intrasquad dual at Corbett Pool. The meet was the team's final tune-up before opening their regular season next weekend.

The Gold team, led by junior captains Erin Spadinger and Ron Fogel, won the dual by a score of 235-217. The Gold won both the women's 400 medley and freestyle relays and the men's 400 medley relay along with 13 of 24 individual events to claim the dual win.

Individually, the Gold was led by junior Heidi Thorson and freshman Aimee Stinson who each won multiple events. Thorson won both the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle in respective times of 24.39 and 53.16. Stinson won both the 200 and 500 freestyles in times of 1:55.24 and 5:07.37.

The Brown team was led by freshman Curtis Smith and junior John Lynch who were the only Cowboys to win multiple events. Smith cruised to a first place finish in both the 50 and 100 freestyles, swimming to times of 22.40 and 48.53. Lynch won both boards of diving, finishing with a score of 481.65 on the 1-meter and 477.45 on the 3-meter.

The swimming and diving team will return to action next weekend as the women travel to New Mexico for a Mountain West Conference dual and the men travel to Fort Collins, Colo. for the Early Bird Invite. The women will take on New Mexico on Saturday at 12 p.m while the Cowboys will compete in Fort Collins on Friday and Saturday.
