Wyoming Divers Conclude Competition at the 2004 Texas Invite

LARAMIE, Wyo. - The University of Wyoming men's and women's diving teams concluded competition at the 2004 Texas Invite, Saturday afternoon in Austin, Texas.
All three Cowboy divers finished in the top-10 of all three boards with sophomore John Lynch leading the charge in all three events. He finished fourth in the 1-meter, sixth in the 3-meter and fourth in the platform event.
Thursday, Lynch finished fourth in the finals of the 1-meter event (278.65) while senior Adam Miller finished fifth (273.55) and sophomore Kevin Bretting finished eighth (251.45). In Friday's 3-meter competition, both Lynch and Miller qualified for the finals where Lynch placed sixth (457.90) and Miller placed seventh (444.10). Bretting dove to the 10th best preliminary score of 366.75, just missing the finals. In Saturday's platform action, Lynch finished fourth (380.35), Bretting finished sixth (338.10) and Miller finished seventh (336.85).
The Cowgirls also had a very strong weekend with sophomore Emily Keefer leading the Cowgirls in two of three events on the weekend. In Thursday's 3-meter competition, Keefer finished 11th in the semi finals (4:13.80) and fellow sophomore Saara Haapanen finished 15th (397.65). Freshman Brittany Wainwright finished 21st in the preliminaries with a score of 212.90. Friday, Keefer finished 14th in the preliminaries of the 1-meter board (221.05), Haapanen finished 16th (216.10) and Wainwright finished 23rd (199.35). Saturday, Haapanen dove to a 12th place score of 287.10 in the platform event while Keefer finished 14th (284.75) and Wainwright finished 18th (256.20).

they join the swimmers to travel to Las Vegas, Nev. for the UNLV
