2014-15 Wyoming Swimming and Diving Schedule

University of Wyoming head swimming and diving coach Tom Johnson released the 2014-15 schedule for the Cowboys and Cowgirls on Thursday. The slate features four home duals along with the second annual Wyoming Diving Invite. Wyoming will also hit the pool in six events along the Front Range.

“This will be a very challenging schedule for us this season,” Johnson said. “We will go head-to-head against some of the fastest teams in the country.”

Wyoming opens the season with its annual Brown and Gold \exhibition dual in Corbett Pool on Oct. 3. UW’s first home event comes on Oct. 9, as the Cowgirls take on Mountain West foe New Mexico. The Wyoming Diving Invite will be hosted in Corbett Pool Oct. 10-11. The Cowgirls welcome regional rival New Mexico State on Nov. 6. The Cowboys’ only home meet takes place Jan. 17, 2015, as the Cowgirls and Cowboys take on regional rival Denver.

UW keeps its regional rivalries intact this season visiting six schools along the Front Range. The highlight of the regional schedule will be the annual DU Relays on Oct. 11. The Cowgirls will also face off against Border War rival Colorado State on Oct. 24.

“The teams in our region are making great improvements and it is always nice to face teams in the area,” Johnson said.

Wyoming’s schedule is highlighted by the highly competitive Texas Invite and Texas Diving Invite. The divers will take part in the Texas Diving Invite on Nov. 20-22. The swimmers will head to UT on Dec. 4-6, as Adam Kalms returns to the pool where he recorded his second career All-America honor a season ago. UW will also head to California for regular-season duals for the first time since the 2010-11 season. UW will challenge UC Santa Barbara on Nov. 14 and take on Cal Poly on November 15.

“This stretch of the schedule will be exciting because the Texas Invite is one of the fastest meets in the country outside the NCAA Championship,” Johnson said. “UC Santa Barbara will also be a difficult meet, as they knocked off UNLV a season ago.”
