LARAMIE, Wyo. -

University of Wyoming senior diver Mark Murdock reached the final round, and placed seventh at the AT&T National Diving Championships in College Station, Texas, on Saturday.

"Mark did a great job, and this is a great way to close out the summer diving season," said Wyoming diving coach Patrick Bukowski. "I hope that Mark can carry this momentum into this season."

Murdock placed 16th in the preliminary round of the championships, which qualified him for the semifinals. In the semifinals he placed seventh qualifing him for the final round that took place today. The final round saw Murdock dive well and place seventh with a score of 406.45.

The seventh place finish pre-qualified Murdock to dive in next years championships. His performance could also earn him a spot on the U.S. National Diving Team.

Murdock improved his finish by five spots from a summer ago, when he placed 12th.
