Cowgirl Allie Smith Receives MWC Weekly Diving Honors For Third Time This Season

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - University of Wyoming senior diver Allie Smith has received Mountain West Conference Weekly diving honors for the second time in as many weeks and the third time this season.

"Allie's performance this weekend was excellent," Wyoming diving coach Pat Bukowski said. "She came out and preformed very well against some top level talent at the Wildcat Invite."

Smith, who hails from Sandy, Utah, swept the springboard events in the Cowgirls' 190-104 victory over TCU on Friday. She tallied a pool-record 338.33 points on the 3-meter springboard to win the event and qualify for the NCAA Zone Meet. She also turned in a score of 293.93 to win the 1-meter springboard. Smith also competed in the Wildcat Diving Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. She again earned NCAA zone qualification on the 1-meter springboard with a fifth-place score of 270.30, while also posting a mark of 161.65 in the platform event. This is the second consecutive week Smith has received MWC weekly honors and her third selection of the season.

The other MWC weekly honors went to Air Force's Benjamin Gunn and UNLV's Cody Roberts, who were Men's co-swimmers of the week. BYU's Brandon Watson was the MWC men's diver of the week. San Diego States Stephanie Koch was named MWC women's swimmer of the week.
