LARAMIE, Wyo. - For the first time in her young career, University of Wyoming freshman Lelsey Young has been named the Mountain West Conference's Swimmer of the Week.

Young, from Turlock, Calif., helped the Cowgirls improve to 2-0 in MWC dual meets by winning both events she competed in during Wyoming's victory over San Diego State last Saturday. She began the meet by helping lead the 200-medley relay team to a first-place clocking of 1:48.18. She followed by breaking the Corbett Pool record in the 100-breaststroke, swimming a time of 1:04.81 for the win.

Thus far this season, the Cowgirls have earned five weekly honors from the Mountain West Conference.
