Derner, Bowen and Page All Run Personal Bests in the 5,000 Meters

Before Wyoming: One of the top throwers in the Northwest region under coach and father Kyle Unland at Ferris High School...won the state title in the discus from his sophomore to senior season...also was runner-up at the state meet in the shot put as a senior...owned personal best of 190-3 in the discus, 57-8 1/2 in the shot put and 178-11 in the hammer...won the prestigious Arcadia Invitational in 2013 with a discus throw of 190-3...also lettered four years in football...earned first-team all-league honors four times and all-state honors as a senior.

Personal: The son of Kyle and Cori Unland...Kyle was an All-American in the hammer at Washington State while a teammate of Wyoming coach Paul Barrett...Damon has three brothers, Kirk, Ethan and Grayson...born on Dec. 7, 1994, in Olympia, Wash...majoring in engineering at UW.
