2010-11... James once again proved why he is among the nation's best jumpers. During the indoor season, James had four first-place finishes, winning the MW Championships in the long jump. That was his eighth MW title in the jumping events. James did not compete in the outdoor season.
2009-10... He added one more MWC crown to his collection last season, winning the triple jump at the MWC Indoor Championships. He was an NCAA qualifier in the triple jump, taking 14th with a leap of 50 feet, 4 ½ inches. He also was third at the MWC Championships in the high jump, and hit a personal-best mark of 6-9. He already has cemented his place as one of Wyoming's all-time greats.
2008-09... James once again was crowned the MWC champ in both the long jump and triple jump for both the indoor season and outdoor season, bringing his total to seven in his career. He was an NCAA regional qualifier during the outdoor season in both the long jump and triple jump. He only competed in the triple jump and placed 13th at the meet. During the Indoor MWC Championships, James came away with his second High Point Award after scoring 20 individual points for the Pokes. 2007-08... James had one of the most productive seasons for the men's track and field team as he was crowned the conference champion in the long jump during the indoor and outdoor Mountain West Conference Championships. He also was named to the All-MWC team twice. During the indoor season, he owned the best long jump in the conference and had the third-best triple jump and fifth-best high jump. While at the MWC Championships, he won the long jump, placed third in the high jump and fourth in the triple jump. For his accomplishments, he won the High Point Award with 21 points scored for the Cowboys. James had a productive outdoor season with the No. 1-ranked long jump in the conference, fourth-best high jump, and sixth-best triple jump. While at the MWC Championships, he was the best at the meet in the long jump and was the fifth-best in the triple jump. He was an NCAA regional qualifier in the long jump and finished in eighth place. James was also voted as the Newcomer of the Year by his teammates and coaches for the men's track and field team.
High School... James was named basketball player of the year, along with being named track athlete of the year. He won sportsman of the year.
Personal... James is the son of Sharon James and David Hall. James is majoring in bioengineering.
