2013-14: The eight-time All-American and four-time NCAA runner-up returns for his senior season for Wyoming in 2013-14...ranked second indoors in the shot put and fifth outdoors in the discus for the upcoming season.
2012-13: Competed in the NCAA Indoor Championships in the shot put...posted the nation's second-best mark in the shot put during the year with a 65-9 3/4 throw at the Air Force Invite, breaking UW's all-time best mark for the event held since 2000 and garnering MW Male Athlete of the Week honors...won the MW Championships in the event at 65-1 1/2...also finished second in the weight throw (60-5 3/4) to achieve All-MW honors and be named the MW Male Most Outstanding Performer...named the USTFCCCA Mountain Regional Field Athlete of the Year for his accomplishments...redshirted the outdoor season but competed unattached...won the Cowpoke Open with a career-best discus throw of 205-0 to set a Louis S. Madrid Complex record...was the fifth-best discus in the country among collegians and professionals at the time.
Before Wyoming: Joined the Cowboys in the summer of 2012 after three years at Kansas...was a four-time NCAA runner-up...twice in the shot put and twice in the discus...was an eight-time NCAA All-American...a four-time Big 12 champion in the shot put and discus throw...during his prep career broke the national high school record in the discus throw with a mark of 236-6...also threw the shot put a Colorado high school record of 71-8 1/2 in 2009.
Personal: Mason's father, Jared, was an All-American discus thrower for the Cowboys in 1979...majoring in theater.
