2013-14: During the indoor season threw the weight throw and placed fifth in the event at the MW Championships...top performance was 65-11 to win the Powder River Dual on Jan. 31...also won the Rocky Mountain Classic on Feb. 21 with a toss of 63-2 1/4...finished in the top three at five of the seven meets he threw the weight throw in...during the outdoor season competed in the hammer...top performance was a throw of 198-0 to place second at the Cowpoke Open on May 3...placed sixth in the event at the MW Championships with a toss of 194-10...qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary in the hammer, but did not record a mark.
Before Wyoming: Transferred from Southern Utah in the summer of 2013 after spending two years on a Mormon mission in Chile...earned All-Summit League honors in 2011 as a true freshman by placing third in the hammer throw at 184-10...owned personal bests of 184-10 in the hammer and 51-0 in the weight throw...completed his prep career at Lovell High School for coach Chad Lindsay, a former Cowboy and previous school record holder in the shot put....as a senior in 2010 won the Class 2A shot put and discus titles.
