Jessica Fox Provisionally Qualifies for the 2005 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships

LARAMIE, Wyo. -
University of Wyoming senior Jessica Fox provisionally qualified for the 2005 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, as a handful of Wyoming tracksters competed in the Don Barrett-Air Force Open in Colorado Springs, Colo. over the weekend.
Fox ran to a qualifying time of 53.71 in the 400 meter dash, winning the race by more than a full second. Fox joins throwers Zack Schaefer and Kyle Herl, jumper Blake Jackson and sprinter/ hurdler Shauna Smith who have already provisionally qualified for the Indoor Championships which will run March 11-12 in Fayetteville, Ark.
Other top-three finishes in the open for Wyoming came from junior Jeremiah Johnson, junior Marji Bovey and sophomore Adam Kelly. Johnson won the 800 meter run, crossing the finish line in a time of 1:55.16. Bovey finished third in the women's shot put with a throw of 45' 4 1/4" and Kelly finished third in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.06.
The Wyoming track and field team will return to action next week for the 2005 Indoor Mountain West Conference Championships. The championships will run next Thursday through Saturday at the Air Force Academy.
