The University of Wyoming men's track and field team had junior Jeremiah James representing the `Brown and Gold at the 2010 Outdoor NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., on Wednesday.

James took to the triple jump runway with 23 other individuals from all over the nation. James finished in 21st place with his best jump landing him 49' 1.5" from the board. Sophomore Christian Taylor took the 2010 title with his leap of 56' 1" from the University of Florida.

"It didn't end the way that we wanted but we are extremely proud of the way that Jeremiah performed all year long," said UW assistant coach Quincy Howe. "When you think about it he finished 21st out of 24, but really he finished 21st out of more than 20,000 college athletes. He just didn't have it today, but hopefully we can gain experience from this and continue to move forward next year."

James has one more year to continue his dominance on the Mountain West Conference and continue to move up the UW record books. He currently owns the second best outdoor triple jump in UW history and the fifth best outdoor long jump with plenty of room to improve.
