UW Track and Field Ready to Compete at the Air Force Invitational

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The 2008 Wyoming Track and Field indoor season hits its stride this weekend with the first in a series of five meets on consecutive weekends. The Cowboys and Cowgirls will begin by traveling to Colorado Springs, Colo. to compete in the Air Force Invitational held in the Cadet Field House on Feb. 1st and 2nd.

The meet will begin Friday at noon with events continuing till 6 p.m., while on Saturday the events will begin at 8:30 a.m. and run till 4 p.m.

The Pokes will battle such NCAA DI teams as: Air Force, Colorado, Colorado State, Fresno State, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Northern Colorado, Utah State and Wichita State; and three NCAA DII schools in Adams State, CU-Colorado Springs and Western State. This will be a scored competition with ten points for each first place finish, eight points for second place, six for third place, five for fourth, four for fifth, three for sixth, two for seventh and one point for eighth place.
