Wyoming Cross Country Teams Compete At Woody Greeno Invite.

Lincoln, Neb. (September 20, 2003) -- The University of Wyoming cross country teams completed their second race of the season at the Woody Greeno Invitational in Lincoln, Neb. on Saturday. The Cowgirls finished third in the 6k race with 60 team points, and the Cowboys also finished third in the men's 8k run with 81 team points.
The Cowgirls were paced by junior Jennifer Thompson who finished in sixth place in the university division with a time of 22:42. Junior Natalie Kean finished behind Thompson with an eighth place finish and a time of 22:47. Other Cowgirls who turned in great times were sophomore Tanice Barnett (13th, 23:19), junior Ashley Pederson (19th, 23:29), sophomore Emerald Reid (23rd, 23:42), sophomore Kristin Brauneis (28th, 24:10), sophomore Elena Helmerick (29th, 24:11), sophomore Christine Michel (31st, 24:17), junior Rachel Stacy (32nd, 24:28), freshman Lauren Tonoli (34th, 24:39), sophomore Maggie Diller (39th, 25:02) and senior Jennifer Mansell (40th, 25:07).
Sophomore Brian Knight turned in the Cowboys top performance with an 11th place finish with a time of 26:07. Following Knight was freshman Jason Sanders in 22nd place, crossing the finish line in 27:22. Senior Kyle Cheesebrough was the third Poke to cross the line with a time of 27:24 and an 23rd place finish. Other Cowboys that competed were sophomore Ragan Driver, (25th, 27:32), junior Jeremey Thompson (26th, 27:40), senior Jason Delaney (27th, 27:41) and sophomore Brian Harnish (29th, 27:55).
Nebraska took the top spot in the women's race with 28 points as the Air Force Academy took home the men's title with 15 points.
