LARAMIE, WYO. -

The University of Wyoming Cowboy basketball team turned in a 71-47 exhibition win over the Colorado State-Pueblo Thunderwolves on Wednesday night in the Arena-Auditorium. In UW's first game of the 2005-06 season, 12 Cowboys saw action and ten players contributed in the scoring column.

Wyoming was led in scoring by sophomore guard Brad Jones, Marked Tree, Ark., who notched 12 points and six rebounds. Junior forward Chris Anderson, freshman guard Brandon Ewing and freshman forward Ike Okoye all scored ten points apiece.

Ewing and senior forward Derek Wabbington each grabbed seven rebounds for the Pokes.

Senior forward/center Justin Williams missed the game with CSU-Pueblo due to a sprained left knee, but Williams is expected to return to practice by the end of this week. Williams was the 2004 Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Year, and earned Third Team All-MWC honors.

The Cowboys are now 14-1 in exhibition contests under head coach Steve McClain.

The Thunderwolves were paced by senior forward Jeff McCall who scored 11 points.
