Wyoming Basketball to Host Air Force on Tuesday Night

With a current 10-game home winning streak in tact, the Wyoming Cowboy basketball team will host the Air Force Falcons on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. in the Arena-Auditorium. The game will be televised live by The Mtn.
By way of an 83-74 win over Colorado State last Saturday afternoon, the Cowboys notched their 10th consecutive home win. That streak is currently tied as the 19th longest home winning streak in the nation, among NCAA Division I teams. The Pokes are a perfect 9-0 at home this season and have outscored their opponents by an average of 16.0 points in those games.
The Cowboys enter Tuesday's game with a 13-6 overall record and a 2-3 Mountain West Conference mark. Air Force is currently 9-9 overall and 0-5 in the MWC.
The Cowboys are led by four of the MWC's top-10 scorers is senior Brandon Ewing (18.5 ppg), senior Tyson Johnson (15.5 ppg), redshirt freshman Afam Muojeke (15.5 ppg) and redshirt senior Sean Ogirri (15.0 ppg).
Johnson is the current MWC Co-Player of the Week, as he received the award on Monday morning. Last week, Johnson scored 37 points and pulled down 17 rebounds in UW's games with TCU and Colorado State. Johnson is also currently tied for first in the MWC in rebounding with 8.4 per game.
Ewing enters Tuesday's game as the MWC's leading scorer and assist man, with 5.11 assists per game. He has scored in double figures in 17 games this season and has reached the 20-point plateau 10 times.
Ogirri currently ranks 16th in the nation in made three-pointers per game with 3.37. That total is also tops in the MWC. Ogirri has scored in double figures in 11 consecutive games for the Cowboys.
Wyoming leads the all-time series with Air Force 68-27 (.716) overall and 36-11 (.766) in games played in Laramie. The Cowboys have won 30 of the last 39 meetings, but Air Force has won eight of the last 12 games.
Air Force is coached by Jeff Reynolds, who is in his second year as the Falcons' head coach. He has posted a 25-23 record thus far.
Senior Anwar Johnson is currently leading the Falcons in scoring with 13.6 points per game, while also adding 4.0 rebounds. Seniors Matt Holland and Andrew Henke are also averaging double-figures in scoring with respective totals of 11.9 and 10.9 points per game.
Following Tuesday's game with Air Force, the Cowboys will take to the road for a pair of MWC games. They will open a two-game road swing at BYU this Saturday before traveling to New Mexico next Tuesday. The Cowboys and Cougars will tip off at 4 p.m. on Sat., Jan. 31 and the Cowboys will play the Lobos at 8 p.m. on Tue., Feb. 3. The BYU game will be televised by The Mtn. and the New Mexico game will air on CBS College Sports.
