LARAMIE, Wyo. -

Wyoming senior Justin Williams was named the Mountain West Conference Player of the Week on Monday, Nov. 21 after he led the Wyoming Cowboys to a 2-1 record and a third-place finish in the 2005 BCA Invitational hosted by the University of Wyoming.

It is Williams' first MWC Player of the Week award this season and the second of his career.

Williams recorded three consecutive double-doubles in the BCA Invitational to earn All-Tournament honors.

He scored 11 points and grabbed 13 rebounds against Alabama State in a 69-54 opening round win in the tournament. In the semifinals against UNC Wilmington, he had 16 points, 16 rebounds and blocked six shots in a 59-62 overtime loss. Williams saved his best game for Wyoming's final game of the tournament against Charlotte. Versus Charlotte, Williams scored 13 points, pulled down a career best 20 rebounds and blocked a career best nine shots as the Pokes captured an 87-78 Wyoming victory.
