Pokes Prepare for First Full-Padded Practice of Spring on Wednesday

Cowboy Football Two-A-Days: #9 and #59

Presented by Union Wireless

UW This Season: After a position change from defense to offense, Tixier will be a valuable backup at the offensive center spot.

2012: Redshirted.

High School: Tixier earned All-Area and All-Mid-Suburban East Conference honors as a senior in 2011 at Prospect High School in Mount Prospect, Ill. If that high school sounds familiar to Wyoming Cowboy fans, it is because it is the same high school as former Cowboy offensive lineman Nick Carlson. A defensive lineman, Tixier was credited with eight sacks, 24 quarterback hurries, five forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries his senior season. He was voted a team captain as a senior. His Prospect High team placed second in the Mid-Suburban East Conference and earned the school's seventh consecutive appearance in the Class 7A State Playoffs in 2011, losing in the first round. Class 7A is the second largest in the state of Illinois. As a junior, his team posted a 9-2 record and advanced to the second round of the state playoffs.

Personal: Born May 11, 1994, he is the son of Mary Kay and Joe Tixier. He has an older sister, Ellie. He is undecided on a major at UW.
