2013: Redshirted.

High School: Medina was a three-year letter winner in football for Mesa Ridge. As a senior, he earned First Team All-Conference and All-Area, and was the team MVP. He also was named to the Honorable Mention First Team All-State squad. He helped Mesa Ridge finish 9-4 overall and earn a spot in the state semifinals. As a junior, he was First Team All-Conference. A two-way player, Medina excelled on the defensive line, tallying 22 solo stops, along with 26 assisted tackles, eight tackles for loss and two sacks as a senior. He was a NSHSS member from 2011-13, and was a four-year academic letterman.

Personal: Born Nov. 3, 1994, he is the son of Wendi Boyd and has two younger siblings, Brandon and Brenden. He is pursuing a degree in geophysics at UW.
