2014: Tapscott appeared in five games for the Cowboys rushing for 80 yards on 15 carries with two touchdowns. He had a career day at Fresno State rushing for 72 yards on 10 carries with two touchdowns. He scored on a 48-yard scamper against the Bulldogs and later added a two-yard touchdown run.
High School: Tapscott earned First Team Virginia AA All-State honors from VirginiaPreps.com his senior season of 2012. He was also named the Region II, Division 3 Offensive Player of the Year. Although he missed two games due to injury, he rushed for 1,278 yards and scored 16 touchdowns on 178 carries. He scored a touchdown in 20-consecutive games over his junior and senior seasons. His Kettle Run High team compiled an 11-3 record, advancing to the state semifinals. As a junior, Tapscott rushed for 1,370 yards and 18 touchdowns on 206 attempts, while earning First Team All-State honors. His team posted a 13-1 record and made its first of two consecutive state semifinal appearances. He rushed for 652 yards and scored five TDs on 135 carries as a sophomore. Tapscott was an accomplished long jumper and sprinter on his track and field team. He played for head football coach Jeff Lloyd.
Personal: Born Aug. 6, 1995, he is the youngest of four children of Esther and Kenneth Tapscott. His older brother, Kenneth III, played football at Ferrum College. Tapscott was also recruited by Boston College, Maryland, Ohio and Wake Forest. He is pursuing a degree in communication at UW.
