Kevin May begins his second year as a defensive graduate assistant with the Wyoming Cowboy Football program. May assists the defensive staff in breaking down and analyzing opponents' offensive film and preparing scouting reports on opponents' offenses. He will also provide the same analysis of opponent punt units and help formulate Wyoming's punt return schemes. Before joining the Cowboy coaching staff as a GA in 2013, May was an assistant coach at his alma mater, Occidental College in Los Angeles, for the 2012 season. He worked with defensive backs and inside linebackers at Occidental, and assisted the defensive coordinator in developing game plans and calling defenses on game days. May assisted the special teams coordinator with all aspects of the kicking game. During the 2012 season, May also served as Occidental Football's video coordinator. Immediately prior to accepting his graduate assistant position at Wyoming, May moved into the role of strength coach for the Occidental Football team from January to July of 2013. A four-year starter at Occidental as a safety and outside linebacker from 2008-11, he was awarded the Captains Award for his leadership, and was presented the Monster Award for his dedication and performance in the strength and conditioning program while a student-athlete. In his senior season of 2011, he became a two-way starter as he also started at tight end on offense. May received a bachelor's degree in economics from Occidental College in 2011.
