University of Wyoming Football Announces Three Mid-Year Signees

Two student-athletes have international background

UW This Season: Luke Knapton will battle for playing time at middle linebacker this fall after redshirting his freshman season of 2010.

2010: Redshirted.

High School: Knapton played for his father Bob at Laramie High School for the last three years of his prep career. As a senior, he posted 122 tackles to earn First Team All-State honors and was named the East Division Defensive Player of the Year. He posted 115 tackles as a junior to claim Second Team All-State and First Team All-Conference, after making 64 tackles as a sophomore.

Personal: Born on March 31, 1992, Luke is the son of Sandy and Bob Knapton and has one older brother, Gabe, who is one of Wyoming's returning starters at defensive end. His father played football at Northern Colorado. Luke was also recruited by Colorado State. He is majoring in physical education.
