Danilo Robinson
	Position: Director of Player Personnel Experience: Third season at UW Alma Mater: Utah State '97

Danilo Robinson (Pronounced: duh-NEEL-o) enters his second season on the Wyoming Football staff in 2012. This season Robinson takes on a new role as Director of Player Personnel and Recruiting for the Cowboy Football program. He coached the defensive line, along with fellow Wyoming assistant coach Matt Rahl, for the 2011 season. Robinson is entering his 14th year in college football in 2012.

In his new position, Robinson will work primarily in the area of coordinating Wyoming's recruiting efforts. Among his responsibilities will be: implementing Wyoming's recruiting plan for the year, scheduling recruiting travel, organizing recruiting weekends, assuring compliance with NCAA rules relative to recruiting and managing the recruiting budget. He will also handle a variety of administrative duties as the Director of Player Personnel.

Robinson coached Wyoming senior defensive ends Josh Biezuns and Gabe Knapton in 2011. Both Biezuns and Knapton earned Second Team All-Mountain West honors in 2011. Biezuns signed a free-agent contract with the Chicago Bears following the 2012 NFL Draft. Knapton concluded his career ranked No. 5 in school history and No. 6 in Mountain West history with 368 career tackles.

Wyoming's appearance in the 2011 Gildan New Mexico Bowl was the second time in Robinson's coaching career that he had reached postseason play. He was on the staff at Utah State in 1997 when the Aggies, under the direction of head coach John L. Smith, earned a bid to the 1997 Humanitarian Bowl versus Cincinnati.

Robinson began his college football career as an outstanding defensive end at Utah State, where he played from 1993-96. He helped lead the Aggies to two Big West Conference Championships in 1993 and 1996. He was twice elected a team captain, and earned Second Team All-Big West honors in 1995 and `96. He also was part of USU's 1993 Las Vegas Bowl Championship team as a player.

After completion of his college playing career, he became a strength and conditioning coach at his alma mater in 1997. In 1998, he became an assistant football coach at Navy. Robinson coached at Navy from 1998-2001 under another former Wyoming assistant coach Charlie Weatherbie, who was head coach of the Midshipmen.

Robinson rejoined Weatherbie at Louisiana-Monroe for the 2003 and `04 seasons. From 2005-08, he returned to Logan, Utah, to serve as the defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator at his alma mater, Utah State. Robinson's most recent college coaching position prior to coming to Wyoming was as the linebackers coach and recruiting coordinator at Southwest Minnesota State for the 2010 season.

Robinson completed his bachelor's degree in political science from Utah State in 1997. He is also working on completing his master's degree in education from Azusa Pacific University. He and his wife, Shelley, have one son, Dylan, and one daughter, Sydney. Shelley was an outstanding sprinter on the track and field team at Utah State. Robinson is a native of Panama.
