UW This Season: After switching from quarterback to wideout this spring, Smith hopes to see some time on the field in the fall of 2012. He is listed behind returner Trey Norman for one of the receiver spots. Smith will go on scholarship in August 2012.
2011: Smith did not play in 2011. He arrived on the Wyoming campus in the fall of 2010 as a walk-on.
High School: Smith was a multi-sport athlete at Manchester Memorial High School in Manchester, N.H. He lettered in football as a sophomore, junior and senior and in baseball as a senior. He was a high school quarterback and earned New Hampshire All-State honors as a senior. He was a team captain his senior year and threw 11 touchdown passes and rushed for four more. In baseball, he helped lead his school to a record of 16-4 his senior year and the quarterfinals of the state playoffs. He also excelled academically and was an honor roll member.
Personal: Born April 18, 1989, in Manchester, N.H., he is the son of Cindy and Jeff Smith and has two brothers, Ryan and Rick. He is majoring in communications.
