UW This Season: Boyland made a position change for the Cowboys last spring moving to right guard. He is listed at the number one spot at right guard going into the fall.

2014: Boyland appeared in eight games at defensive tackle for the Cowboys. He recorded four tackles on the season with one solo stop and three assisted tackles.

2013: Redshirted.

Junior College: Boyland is from Palo Alto, Calif. He played two years of junior-college football at College of San Mateo in San Mateo, Calif. He is ranked as the 16th best junior-college defensive tackle recruit in the country by, and also received a three-star ranking from that recruiting website. Boyland played for head coach Bret Pollack at College of San Mateo. Boyland played his high school football at Palo Alto Senior High in Palo Alto, Calif., where his head coach was Earl Hansen.

Personal: Born Dec. 16, 1991, Boyland is one of four children of Arletha Green and Troy King. Boyland was also recruited by Middle Tennessee, Texas A&M, UNLV, Washington State and Western Michigan. He is pursuing a degree in social sciences at UW.
