UW This Season: Austin Woodward will look to contribute on several fronts after redshirting his first year in the program. He enters the fall third on the depth chart at WILL linebacker and will also backup returning senior Austin McCoy at punter.

2010: Redshirted.

High School: Woodward was one of the top prep players in the state of Wyoming as a senior, as he led Class 4A Sheridan High School to a state title. Playing under coach Don Julian, Woodward guided the Broncs to an 11-1 record to earn All-State honors as a quarterback and punter. He was also named Wyoming's Gatorade Player of the Year and was a finalist for the National Football Foundation's High School National Scholar-Athlete Award. As a junior, his team qualified for the state playoffs with a 9-2 record and he earned All-State honors as a quarterback. As a sophomore, he was All-Conference. Woodward was a three-time letterwinner in football, basketball and track.

Personal: Born on Sept. 23, 1991, Austin is the son of Pamela and Gene Woodward and has one sister and one brother. His sister Kayla will be a freshman on the Wyoming Cowgirl Basketball team beginning in the fall of 2011. He was also recruited by Montana State. He has not declared a major.
