March 4, 2011
LARAMIE, Wyo. - University of Wyoming head football coach Dave Christensen announced Friday the hiring of Brian Wilkinson as Director of Football Operations. Wilkinson comes to Wyoming from the University of California-Berkeley where he was the Assistant Director of Football Operations.
Wilkinson has eight years experience working in college athletics at the University of California and Sacramento State University.
"Brian (Wilkinson) brings a great deal of experience to our staff," said Christensen. "He is an individual who has a lot of energy, pays attention to detail and is a great fit for our staff. With his experience, I know that he will implement the detailed planning necessary to help make our program run as smoothly as possible. We're very happy to have Brian join the University of Wyoming football program."
"I am very appreciative for the opportunity that Coach (Dave) Christensen and Mr. (Tom) Burman have given me," said Wilkinson. "I'm really excited to be part of an athletic department that has such a rich tradition as the University of Wyoming, and I'm elated to be able to work with a great coaching staff.
"The state of Wyoming and the Laramie community is a place that was very attractive to my wife and me. I look forward to getting my family out here, and we look forward to raising our two boys here."
As the Assistant Director of Football Operations at Cal in 2010, Wilkinson was involved in organizing all aspects of team travel. He produced the daily schedules for the football program. Wilkinson also assisted in hosting recruiting visit weekends for potential recruits, as well as assisting with all aspects of football recruiting.

Also while at Cal, Wilkinson was the Director of Softball Operations from 2005-06. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Equipment Manager for the Bears from 2003-05.
