Wyoming Football Fans Invited to Vote for Opening-Day Uniforms
Aug. 3, 2011
Laramie, Wyo. - Head coach Dave Christensen and the University of Wyoming football team have invited Cowboy fans to help decide which uniforms UW will wear for the season opener on Sept. 3 against Weber State. Fans may vote for one of six uniform combinations and one of three helmets. Voting will conclude the week before the Weber State game, when a winner will be announced.
A brown or gold jersey choice is available for the Cowboys to wear at home. The brown home jerseys feature the traditional "WYOMING", in white letters, across the front of the jersey with a gold panel down the sides, while the gold jerseys feature the letters "WYO" in brown, outlined in white. There is no secondary color panel on the side of the gold jerseys. Per NCAA rules, the Cowboys' white jersey can only be worn on the road.
The three pant options include gold and white pants, both highlighted with a brown panel down the outside of each leg. Brown pants have the "COWBOYS" in gold down the outside of each leg.
Fans may also select one of three helmets for Wyoming to wear in the season opener. The traditional metallic white helmet has a brown "Bucking Horse" logo trimmed in gold, while an alternative metallic white helmet has a metallic gold "Bucking Horse" logo trimmed in brown and includes two matching metallic gold stripes trimmed in brown down the middle of the helmet. The alternative helmet was debuted last season. Wyoming's new brown helmet features a flat finish with a glossy brown "Bucking Hose" logo, trimmed in dark brown and white, and a matching, glossy single stripe down the center of the helmet. All three have brown face masks.
Update: Voting has ended at this time. Thanks for your support of Wyoming football. The winning uniform will be announced on Monday, Aug. 29.
