Remembered as one of the best cornerbacks in Wyoming history, Victorville, Calif., native Julius Stinson concluded his career in the top-10 on three interception lists. Stinson finished his career with nine interceptions, which tied him for the fourth most in a Cowboy career. His senior season of 2007, he tied for the eighth-best single-season interception total with five. Against Virginia during his senior season, Stinson intercepted two passes which is tied for the fifth-best single game total in Cowboy history. For his efforts during that season, Stinson was named one of 12 semifinalists for the Jim Thorpe award which is given to the nation's best defensive back. Stinson also earned First Team All-Mountain West honors. He broke onto the scene for the Pokes as a sophomore in 2005, when he intercepted two passes in a game against Louisiana Monroe. One of the biggest plays of his career came during his junior season, when he intercepted a pass against Utah taking it 42 yards for a touchdown. Stinson earned Co-MW Player of the Week honors with teammate Ward Dobbs. Stinson lettered four years under head coach Joe Glenn from 2004 to '07.
