Wyoming Football to Play at Michigan State in 2014
The University of Wyoming has announced completion of three future football contracts, highlighted by an appearance in East Lansing, Mich., to face the Michigan State Spartans in 2014. Two home-and-home football series have also been finalized with Mid-American Conference (MAC) opponents Northern Illinois and Eastern Michigan.
Wyoming will take on Michigan State on Sept. 20, 2014 in a single-game contract. The Cowboys and Spartans have played each other in football only twice in 1976 and `77. Both previous meetings were in East Lansing. Michigan State is currently ranked No. 11 in the nation in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches polls. The Cowboys and Northern Illinois Huskies will be playing for the first time in the two school's histories when they kick off their series in 2015. The first game of the home-and-home series will see Wyoming travel to DeKalb, Ill., on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, to play the Huskies. The following season, Northern Illinois will make its first-ever appearance in Laramie, Wyo., to face the Cowboys on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016. Northern Illinois was the 2011 MAC Champions. The third future non-conference opponent for the Cowboys will be Eastern Michigan. Like Northern Illinois, Eastern Michigan will be a new opponent for the Cowboys. The home-and-home series with the Cowboys and Eagles will kick off on Sept. 19, 2015, in Laramie, Wyo. The following season on Sept. 24, 2016, Wyoming will travel to Ypsilanti, Mich., to the campus of Eastern Michigan. 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 All Wyoming Home games are in CAPS and bold.
