The Wyoming Cowboys and San Diego State Aztecs will play for the 28th time this Saturday. This year's meeting will take place on Wyoming's Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium. UW leads the overall series by one game, having won 14 times against 13 losses. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 1:00 p.m., Mountain Time.

Wyoming is 4-5 overall and 3-2 in the Mountain West Conference, while SDSU is 1-6 overall, 1-2 in the MWC.

Saturday's game will mark the final home game for the Wyoming Cowboys this season. The final home game of the year, of course, means the final home game for the senior class. Sixteen seniors will be honored Saturday as they play their final game on Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium.

The 2006 senior class has many fond memories to reflect upon during their careers. Some of those memories include:

  • Winning the 2004 Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl over UCLA, 24-21.

  • Defeating archrival Colorado State twice in War Memorial Stadium. Winning by a 24-0 margin earlier this year and defeating the Rams 35-28 in 2003.

  • Capturing the first-ever win over a Southeastern Conference (SEC) team when they defeated Ole Miss, 37-32, in 2004 in War Memorial Stadium.

  • Recording the first road win over an SEC team by defeating Ole Miss, 24-14, in Oxford, Miss., in 2005.

Wyoming's 2006 senior class also has hopes of adding another bowl game to their list of accomplishments. UW is currently tied for second in the conference race at 3-2. Wyoming has already defeated two of the teams they are tied with - Utah and New Mexico. The Pokes have a 4-5 overall record. A team must finish with at least a 6-6 record to qualify for bowl consideration.

Saturday's game will be televised by the mtn. (Mountain West Sports Network).

As with all Cowboy Football games, the Cowboy Sports Network will broadcast the game on radio over its 26 affiliate stations throughout. The radio broadcast will begin one hour prior to kickoff.
