The Pokes shot a first round score of 304 (+16) and carded a 296 (+8) in the afternoon to finish the opening day of the 54-hole tournament in 12th place in the 16-team field with a tally of 600 (+24). Sophomore Kamrin Allen had a couple of his best rounds of the spring to start the tournament off, which is being held at the par-72, 7-165-yard Emerald Valley Golf Course. Allen had four birdies and fired a 73 (+1) during the first round, he then added four more birdies in the second round for a score of 72 (E) and sits tied for sixth place of the 88-man field with a 145 (+1).

“We’re playing a little better and most importantly we are being competitive,” Wyoming head coach Joe Jensen said. “We had really good play from plenty of our guys today but this is a tough course. We know there is still work that needs to be done.”

Oregon State is currently the team leader with a 582 (+6), with Oregon two-shots behind for second place.

“We need a little more consistency,” Jensen said.  “We had a great week of practice and we have an opportunity to go out and play well tomorrow. The guys have to get their mind right and come out with a positive attitude for tomorrow so we can finish strong.”

The final round will begin at 9:30 a.m. MT on Tuesday with live scoring available at
