University of Wyoming men’s golfer Brent Baylon carded a three-round total of 218 (+2) at the Oregon Duck Invitational, finishing tied for sixth Tuesday to lead the Cowboys to their best finish of the spring. The senior was the lone Cowboy to finish in the top-10 of the 88-man field, and posted his second-best round of the tournament with a final-round 73 (+1) en route to the best finish of his career and second top-10 finish of the spring.

The Pokes posted a total tally 906 (+42) to place them tied for 11th of the 16-team field. After the first two rounds on Monday with 304 (+16) and 298 (+8), UW carded a third-round total of 306 (+18).

“The weather wasn’t the best today with the wind and rain, but Brent had a great tournament. He was solid throughout,” Wyoming head coach Joe Jensen said. “He had a really good finish against a tough field.”

Sophomore Kamrin Allen notched his best finish of the spring, tying for 30th with a 54-hole score of 225 (+9).  Allen fired a third-round 80 (+8) after carding two solid rounds on Monday. Senior Eddie Stewart shot a 76 (+4) on the final day. He finished tied for 46th with a total of 228 (+12).

“I’m proud of the way we were able to compete. I like sticking around beating teams and being in reach of catching a few more,” Jensen said. “We can certainly still play better but it was good to see us play the way we did with another good field.”

Rounding out the scoring for the Pokes was senior Eric Parish with 238 (+22) after a third round 77 (+5). Freshman Ryan Wallen carded an 81 (+9) Tuesday and finished one-stroke behind Parish with 239 (+23). Junior Cameron Lindell, playing as an individual, shot a total tally of 240 (+24) after a third-round score of 83 (+11).
