Cowboy Golf Plays Opening Two Rounds at Mizzou Tiger Intercollegiate

On Monday, the University of Wyoming Cowboy golf team took to the tees, fairways and greens in Columbia, Mo. as they played the opening two rounds of golf at the 2009 Mizzou Tiger Intercollegiate.
The second annual UMB Bank-Mizzou Tiger Intercollegiate is being played at The Club at Old Hawthorne. The course measures 6,204 yards and plays to a par of 72. The tournament features 14 teams and 75 competitors.
As a team, the Cowboys are tied for 13th after shooting opening rounds of 307 and 313 for a combined first day score of 620 (+44). They are tied with Eastern Illinois University.
Individually, the Cowboys are led by Zach Zaremba and Gabe Maier who are each tied for 37th in the tournament. Both Maier and Zaremba shot a two-round score of 153 (+9). Phil Henzlik is tied for 43rd after posting a two-round score of 154 (+10).
In the team standings, Kansas State is currently in first place with a two-round score of 574 (-2). UT Arlington is in second place (580, +4) and SMU is currently third (584, +8).
Individually, SMU's Kelly Kraft and Kansas State's Mitchell Gregson are tied for the tournament lead with a two-round total of 137 (-7).
The Mizzou Tiger Intercollegiate will conclude on Tuesday with a final round of 18 holes. The day will begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
