The University of Wyoming men's golf team turned in a stellar score of 284 (-4) during Monday's final round of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invite. The Cowboys finished the tournament on the Eisenhower Golf Club-Blue Course with a score of 867 (+3) tying for third-place with Colorado of the PAC-12. The Cowboys were paced by the senior trio of Brent Baylon, Eric Parish and Eddie Stewart, who combined for six under-par in the final round.

"It was a good day on a difficult golf course and I was so proud of how well we went out there and played," said UW head coach Joe Jensen. "It was a very competitive field and we went in there and played well and hung in there through some ups and downs."

The Cowboys third-place finish was the best by Wyoming at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invite since the 2009 season when UW tied for fourth place. Wyoming finished the tournament with rounds of 290 (+2), 293 (+5) and 284 (-4). The Cowboys turned in the second-best score of the final round with their four under-par, as only Nevada (-5) turned in a better score.

Wyoming was led by Brent Baylon, as he tied a career-best score with his 69 (-3) in the final round as he finished the tournament with a score of 215 (-1) tying for 10th place with fellow senior Eddie Stewart as he closed out play at 215 (-1) after his final round of 70 (-2). Eric Parish rounded out the day for the senior trio as he turned in a season-best score of 71 (-1) as he wrapped up tournament play in a tie for 21st place at 218 (+2).

"In a very competitive field like this one it is so important to have the veterans go out there and show leadership and composer, " said Jensen.

Sophomore Kamrin Allen finished the tournament at 224 (+8), as the individual champion at the Battle in the Tetons ended the tournament with a solid score of 74 (+2). Junior Cameron Lindell appeared in his second tournament as a Cowboy turning in a 229 (+13) with a 75 (+5) in the final round.

Air Force, the host of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invite, walked away with the team title as it finished the tournament with a score of 849 (-15). UTEP followed in second-place with a score of 861 (-3). Wyoming and Colorado followed with scores of 867 (+3). Nevada rounded out the top-five at 869 (+5).

Air Force's Kyle Westmoreland won the individual crown by carding a 204 (-12) for the tournament, as he won the event by five strokes. UTEP's Frederik Dreier finished in second-place at 209 (-7).

"We are working really hard as a team right now and we will be ready to get back at it next week," said Jensen.

Wyoming will return to action Monday and Tuesday at the Ram Masters Invitational in Fort Collins, Colo.
