The Mountain West Conference announced the 2002 Academic All-Conference team for men's and women's golf today. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and be a starter or significant contributor to the team.

A three-year high of 45 student-athletes earned MWC academic honors in 2001-02, including 24 men and 21 women. Colorado State garnered the most honorees with 11, followed by Wyoming with nine and BYU with seven. New Mexico and UNLV each had six selections on this year's academic team, followed by Utah with four and Air Force and San Diego State with one each. Nineteen of the 45 Academic All-MWC members were repeat selections from a year ago.

Attached (see PDF) is a list of Academic All-Mountain West Conference selections grouped alphabetically by school (*notes repeat selection).
