UW Wrestling Adds Two Student-Athletes
Jan. 13, 2014
LARAMIE, Wyo. - An infusion of young talent is on the way for the University of Wyoming wrestling team, as head coach Mark Branch announced Monday the addition of two student-athletes to the roster for the spring semester.
Woodburn, a redshirt freshman, transferred from Oklahoma State University and will have this season and three seasons of eligibility remaining. He will provide depth at 125 and 133 pounds this year. At OSU earlier this year, he tallied a mark of 8-6 with two falls and four major decisions before joining UW's program. In his most recent action, he started at 133 pounds for UW versus Oklahoma on Jan. 9.
Addison is a true freshman from Boise, Idaho, and will wrestle heavyweight for the Pokes. At 6-feet-1-inch and nearly 290 pounds, he has the ideal frame for heavyweight competition. At Boise High School, Addison placed in the top three twice at the state tournament as a competitor. He racked up nearly 100 pins as a prep wrestler and lettered all four seasons.
Up next, the Cowboys will compete Sunday in Gillette, Wyo., against South Dakota State.
