Wyoming Wrestling Signs Five For 2014-15
Nov. 20, 2013
LARAMIE, Wyo. - Recruiting efforts paid dividends Wednesday when the University of Wyoming wrestling program announced it had received commitments from five prep student-athletes to compete in 2014-15.
Wyoming coach Mark Branch announced that the five had signed a National Letter of Intent to become Cowboys. The group includes Branson Ashworth, Thomas "Sam" Eagan, Brock George, Paul "PT" Garcia and Caleb "Cub" Yaeger.
"I think we addressed some concerns in our lineup right now, which was our lighter weights," Branch said. "We're really excited that we've got some lightweight kids that we think are going to be extremely tough and good fits for our program. We also added a heavyweight, which is always good."
The five come to UW from four states across the nation, including Utah, Colorado, Oklahoma and New York.
"We like recruiting the kids in our region, Colorado and Utah, but to get another kid out of Oklahoma and to pull a kid out of New York, it keeps recruiting lines open for us in the future," Branch said. "We're excited to get some kids from different parts of the country."
