UW This Season: One of seven seniors on this year's Cowgirl squad...an extremely hard worker with a great work ethic...a well respected player on the team, she will be looked upon for her leadership...adds depth to the guard position.

Junior (2001-02): Played in eight games off the bench for the Cowgirls...averaged 1.8 points and 1.2 rebounds per game...played in a season high 14 minutes and recorded a career high a five rebounds against Montana State (12/4/01)...scored a season high four points in the victory over Western New Mexico (1/1/02) and San Diego State (1/19/02).

Redshirt Sophomore (2000-01): Averaged 3.9 points and one rebound in 26 games off the bench during the season...started in the first game of her career against San Diego State (3/3/01)...averaged 15.9 minutes per game...finished the year with 35 assists and 14 steals...had a career high 17 points against Texas Pan AM (1/5/01)...scored in double-figures twice during the year...had only played in four games in her career before the game against Chadron State (11/18/00)...a first time Academic All-Conference and Scholar-Athlete selection.

Sophomore (1999-2000): Did not see action during the 1999-2000 season, so was redshirted.

Freshman (1998-99): Saw limited action in her first season with the Cowgirls...played in only four games...finished the season with two rebounds.

High School: A three-year letterwinner at Lewis Palmer High School in Monument, Colo...earned All-Conference and All-Region honors her senior season...was also a four-year letterwinner in soccer, in which she was an All-Conference and All-Region selection three times, and an All-State selection twice...coached by Russ Smith in high school...an excellent student, she was the valedictorian of her class, plus a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Born October 16, 1980 in Colorado Springs, Colo...one of two children of Randy and Cheryl Shaffner...majoring in secondary education with an emphasis in chemistry.
