Wyoming Basketball Plays Final Non-Conference Game Against Eagles

The Cowgirl basketball team will play their final non-conference game of the season as they take on the Eastern Michigan Eagles, on Monday, Jan. 2. The game time is set for 12:00 p.m. MT in Ypsilanti, Mich. Live stats can be followed or audio can be found on www.wyomingathletics.com.
Wyoming enters the game 4-8 overall after suffering a 60-53 loss against Bowling Green on Thursday night in Laramie. The Cowgirls are led by junior Ashley Sickles who leads the team with 14.1 points plus 6.4 rebounds per game. She currently ranks second in minutes played, sixth in scoring and 11th in rebounding. Chaundra Sewell follows with 12.3 points and a team and league leading 9.6 rebounds, while Kaitlyn Mileto is adding 10.4 points. As a team, they are shooting 245-653 (.375) from the field and 52-225 (.231) from beyond the arc.
The Eagles are currently 7-5 overall after a 75-72 loss against Seattle in their last game out. Tavelyn James leads the way with 22.2 points and 3.3 rebounds. Natachia Watkins follows with 11.5 points, while Paige Redditt leads the way with eight boards. They return two starters and eight letterwinners to a team that went 24-13 overall, 10-6 in the Mid-American Conference and made it into the third round of the WNIT Tournament. This is the first meeting between the two schools. Eastern Michigan is coached by AnnMarie Gilbert who is in her fifth season with the program.
