Wyoming Basketball Continues MW Action At Home Wednesday

For the second straight game, the Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team will host another newcomer to the Mountain West in the Fresno State Bulldogs, on Wednesday, Jan. 16. The game is set to tip-off at 7:00 p.m. in the Arena-Auditorium. Live stats and audio can be found at www.gowyo.com.
Wyoming are currently 12-3 overall and 1-1 in MW play after 92-41 victory over Nevada. Four of five starters are averaging double-figures led by Chaundra Sewell. She is averaging 14.5 points and a league leading 10.0 rebounds. Kayla Woodward follows with 13.9 points and 6.3 rebounds while Kailtyn Mileto is adding 12.9 points. Ashley Sickles is chipping in 11.7 points and 6.0 boards as well.
The Cowgirls are first in the league in scoring offense (72.9 ppg) and assists (15.7 aspg). They are also shooting 392-851 (.461) from the field and 105-259 (.405) from beyond the arc. Both rank first in the league. In Mountain West games, they are first in scoring offense (80.0 ppg), assists (19.5 aspg), field goal and free throw percentage.
FSU enters the week with a 10-5 overall record and a 2-0 mark in the MW. They are led by Ki-Ki Moore who is averaging a team high 16.5 points and 6.5 rebounds. Rosie Moult follows with 12.3 points and 5.2 boards. They return four starters and seven letterwinners to a team that went 28-6 overall, 13-1 in the WAC and made it to the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
This will be the 17th meeting between the two schools. The series is tied at 8-8. The last time the two teams met was Feb. 26, 1998 as Wyoming defeated Fresno State, 78-70, in Laramie. The Bulldogs are coached by Raegen Pebley who is in her first season with the program.
