The Wyoming Cowgirl Basketball team will be hosting the San Diego State Aztecs, on Saturday, January 19. The game is set to tip off at 2:00 p.m. in the Arena Auditorium. The Cowgirls are currently ranked 20th in the Associated Press Poll and 21st in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll.

Wyoming is currently 15-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play after a 75-59 victory over the Air Force Academy on Wednesday night in Colorado Springs. Senior Hanna Zavecz leads the way for UW with 15.1 points and 4.1 assists, which ranks fourth in the Mountain West Conference. She is followed by fellow senior Justyna Podziemska who is adding 12.4 points and 5.2 rebounds, while Aubrey Vandiver is chipping in 11.2 points and a team leading 6.8 rebounds per game. The Cowgirls are leading the MWC in scoring defense allowing just 52.4 per contest. They are also shooting .419 (354-844) from the field, .332 (112-337) from beyond the arc and .697 (2205-294) from the free throw line.

San Diego State comes in to the game with a current record of 9-6 overall and 0-3 in the MWC. Last time out, the Aztecs fell to Utah, 74-62, in Salt Lake City. They are led by freshman Paris Johnson who is averaging 13.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. She is followed by Jene Morris who is adding 11.8 points and Allison Duffy with 10.8 points per game. They return four starters and eight letterwinners to a team that went 12-16 overall and 5-11 in the MWC a year ago. This is the 33rd meeting between the two schools. Wyoming leads the series 18-14. The last time the two teams met was March 3, 2007 in the quarterfinals of the MWC Tournament as the Cowgirls defeated the Aztecs, 56-44, in Las Vegas. San Diego State is coached by Beth Burns who is in her 11th season with the program.
