LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The Wyoming women's basketball team will close out the weekend against the San Diego State Aztecs, on Saturday, Jan. 28, in San Diego, Calif. The game is set to tip off at 3:00 p.m. MT.

The Cowgirls are 13-4 overall and 3-3 in MWC play after a thrilling 87-80 overtime victory against the Colorado State Rams. Wyoming is led in scoring and rebounding by sophomore Hanna Zavecz who is averaging 14.2 points and 6.2 rebounds, along with 3.8 assists and 2.3 steals per game. She is followed by Jodi Bolerjack with 12.9 points per game and Erin Hicks with 8.9 points per game.

The Aztecs are currently 3-14 overall and 0-7 in the MWC after a 76-45 loss to the New Mexico Lobos on Wednesday night. SDSU is led by Michelle Strawberry who is averaging 14.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. They come in to this season with two returning starters and five letterwinners from a team that went 8-20 overall and 2-12 in the MWC a year ago.

This will be the 28th meeting between the two schools. Wyoming leads the series 14-13. The last time the two teams met was Feb. 17, 2005 as Wyoming defeated the Aztecs, 69-66, in San Diego. The Aztecs are coached by Beth Burns who is in her ninth year with the program.
